Corporate Counsel

Amazon Studios is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join the legal affairs group in support of Amazon's original local language content initiatives in Latin America.
This attorney will be responsible for all production legal matters for aspects of Amazon's original Spanish language scripted and unscripted television programming series and movies content in certain territories in the region.
Responsibilities include:
Managing all legal matters during the course of development, production and marketing, and coordinating with various Studios teams to develop forms and policies Structuring, drafting, and negotiating production services and underlying rights agreements, as well as above-the-line talent agreements for actors, writers, producers, and directors, and below-the-line crew and other production-related agreements Structuring tax incentive arrangements Evaluating chain-of-title and rights issues, reviewing content for copyright, trademark and defamation risks as well as standards and practices compliance, and reviewing marketing and publicity materials Overseeing outside production counsel and advising on day-to-day production issues Partnering with Amazon's creative, business and production teams to ensure that agreements are timely negotiated, scripts are reviewed prior to shooting, and legal compliance issues are addressed throughout production Analyzing and interpreting contracts and providing thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues in a wide range of legal and regulatory areas, including immigration, intellectual property, labor and employment, public policy, safety, and tax.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
