Direct and supervise team of engineering (QA and/or development teams). Develop standards for products and/or oversee development and execution of software and/or analysis of test results. Plan, design, develop and implement processes. Assist in setting product direction by analyzing product requirements and customer needs. May be involved throughout all stages of software product lifecycle including design, prototyping, implementation, modification, upgrades and maintenance. Responsible for providing first-line management to members of the development team, recruiting and team building. Sets clear objectives for team members and delivers ongoing guidance and performance feedback to the team, including a formal annual review. Sets development goals to help develop potential of team members. Mentors, and works with the team to establish best practices and procedures. Ensures the team adheres to quality standards and is following the defined development process. Drives continual improvement of the process, and advocates for ways to iterate and fine tune the operating mechanisms and standards. Works as a member of an agile team role may vary based on team needs. Ensures team members adhere to schedules, deliverables, and deadlines. Manages, and provides guidance to the team on work assignments and prioritization to ensure timely delivery of the project. Works with the larger management team to manage and schedule software releases. This includes planning, risk assessment, and problem solving to find resolutions to delivery impediments. Has budget responsibility and is held accountable for all project-related costs. Utilizes graduate-level research and analysis skills.
