Description
Department Description:
The creative department produces and conceptualizes promotional artwork for featured titles, marketing campaigns, corporate presentations and brand awareness campaigns. Artwork ranges in sizes and format, from mobile banners to billboard size printing.
Proposed Project Profile:
The design intern will assist in the building of slideshow artwork. Promoting content through the slideshow is a primary traffic driver,
hi-res stills must be captured, composed and color adjusted to fit the brand's style. Additionally the intern will assist in key art production breakdowns, which exist in various sizes and UI templates.
Internship Learning Opportunities/Experience Profile:
The design intern will gain experience acclimating to a fast paced design workflow. The intern will learn principles of entertainment design and develop advanced Photoshop and Illustrator skills and techniques; while properly building, sharing and storing files.
The intern will also research design trends and have a presentation to the creative department regarding these findings.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and
Qualifications:
The design intern should be a Graphic Design major preferably entering their Senior year (possible exception for a Junior), and should display a portfolio of work conveying a strong understanding of composition, typography and compositing. Intermediate to advanced Photoshop skills are required; skill sets in motion and / or illustration are a plus.
The Spectrum Internship Program's Summer session is a full-time, 40 hour/ week commitment lasting for a 8 week period from late June through mid August. All applicants must be in good academic standing and available for the entire 8 week session.
