SHARE! the Self-Help And Recovery Exchange is a non-profit organization that operates two community self-help support group centers in Los Angeles, California: SHARE! Culver City and SHARE! Downtown. SHARE! is currently expanding its services throughout Los Angeles County and is opening a Peer Run Respite House in the San Gabriel Valley for people with mental health issues that will be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The house provides short-term (less than 30 days) respite for up to 10 guests at a time where guests participate in recovery activities such as goal setting, self-help support groups, and other guest-initiated peer-support services. SHARE! needs qualified candidates for the position of Peer Resident Specialist who have extensive personal experience in self-help support groups, are passionate about recovery, and want to help others find their own path to change and grow.
Peer Resident Specialist Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Coordinate daily activities at Peer-Run Respite House
o Modeling recovery behavior and being a role model
o Coordinate transportation to Self-Help Support Groups and appointments
o Manage high stress situations/interventions
o Coordinate and participate in house meetings and meals
o Provide crisis management as needed
o Make community linkages for people
o Assist with special events
Qualifications:
o Significant recovery experience
o 3 - 5 years of personal experience attending self-help support groups
o Ability to leverage community resources, e.g. get donations of food, services, etc.
o Ability to problem solve
o Self-starter, able to take a project and run with it
o Non-judgmental acceptance of others
o Bi-lingual any language a plus, Spanish, any Asian languages desired
o Minimum 1 year of sobriety/abstinence required if applicable, 2-5 years preferred
o Honesty, Willingness, Open-mindedness, Desire to grow
o Sober Living/Collaborative Housing experience a plus
o BA degree a plus
o Managerial experience a plus
o CAADAC or CADE not required.
Compensation: $30,000 plus generous benefits package after initial training period of $12 per hour.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
