Department Description:
Crackle Creative supports multiple departments across network. One of the primary goals is to offer in-house video/motion graphics solutions for featured titles, marketing campaigns, corporate presentations and brand awareness campaigns. Videos range in length from short :05/:10 brand ID's, to :15/:30 second promos, and up to 1-2 minute trailers/sizzle reels/sales pieces.
Proposed Project Profile:
The video intern will assist in the creation of video and motion graphics for On and Off-Network promotions, sales reels, and other marketing material. Tasks could include writing, editing, producing, and/or animating deliverables. From the beginning of the term we would identify titles for the intern to take from concept and pitch, through the creation and approval process, to the finishing and mastering phases, until completion of delivery. There will also be opportunities to assist with live shoots around Electronic Press Kit footage, Red Carpet Events and Premiere Screenings.
Internship Learning Opportunities/Experience Profile:
Our goal would be for the intern to gain knowledge of guiding a video/motion graphic project through the entire creative process, starting with an idea and ending with the work displayed on the Crackle site/apps. This would provide real world experience with short-form or commercial production. Overall, we provide interns with the full range of video project work, from conception through collaboration and cooperation with other departments, through physical production, then into editing, polish, executive approval and finally, distribution onto the network. As a network and a studio, Crackle is unique in its ability to offer each of the different aspects of content creation under one roof, and the intern will learn from and interact with it all.
Qualifications
The Spectrum Internship Program's Summer session is a full-time, 40 hour/ week commitment lasting for a 8 week period from late June through mid August. All applicants must be in good academic standing and available for the entire 8 week session.
Desired Skills and
Qualifications:
The video intern should have experience with video editing and content creation software (ie Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer) and an interest in digital marketing. The candidate should also have general interest in storytelling, music composition, filmmaking and advertising, all of which are elements of the work done by the creative team.
